It’s time to build Canada

February 2025
Ottawa, Ontario

Dear Fellow Canadians,

Canada should be the world’s richest country. But for decades, small thinking, bureaucratic inertia, and special interests have kept us from realizing our potential.

The world is changing quickly. Technology, communication, geopolitics, and culture are shifting. If we don’t change with it our moment will slip away. We can’t afford excuses anymore. Canada must break free from the mindset of “this is how things are done”. It’s time to act differently.

Build Canada is a platform of bold ideas for growth, innovation, and prosperity.

Every policy is proposed by successful Canadian entrepreneurs with deep knowledge from building in the relevant areas. We’re supported by policy experts with experience in government. Our singular focus is a Canada where people build again.

That includes:

  • Selling more Canadian products and resources around the world
  • Changes to boost productivity and competitiveness
  • Developing a culture that celebrates freedom and ambition
  • New ways to deliver better services at lower costs
  • Tax reforms that drive innovation and investment

We all know that our country could be so much more than it is. We have the land, the talent, the know-how, and the energy to be the most abundant nation on earth. And our people have a spirit that could take them anywhere they wanted to go.

Let's build the Canada you know is possible.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why did you start this group?

We got sick of sharing bold ideas on social media, in private chats and political events, and seeing nothing happen. We wanted to bridge the gap between “great entrepreneurial idea” and “a real policy a leader can use.”

What are the core ideas?

We evaluate every policy through a single lens: will it significantly accelerate Canada’s economic growth? We look for bold changes, not incremental improvements. We believe in eliminating regulations and barriers that prevent Canadians from building, not adding more constraints. We believe in precise, high-leverage changes, not comprehensive reforms that try to fix everything all at once.

How do you create memos?

Our volunteer team does an initial intake call with the entrepreneur to develop industry-context and understand their policy idea. We find studies and real-world examples of these ideas in action. We use this research to draft a memo. All memos are reviewed by our volunteer team of policy experts, who have experience across both Liberal and Conservative government parties, before getting final sign-off from the builder.

Why are you only focused on experienced entrepreneurs?

Entrepreneurs bring a perspective often missing from policy discussions: hands-on experience building companies that have successfully grown our economy and created thousands of jobs. This doesn’t mean other voices aren’t valuable. Economists, academics, public servants and citizens all bring critical insights. Our entrepreneur-led approach is simply one method to generate ideas – ideas we invite everyone to read, critique and improve upon.

Is this a lobby group?

No, we are not a lobby group. We are a volunteer non-profit organization. We are not paid, nor do we represent any special interest groups. Our mission is purely to foster dialogue and champion ideas that can lead to positive change.

Is this a permanent organization?

No, this is a short-term project. We’re focused on bringing bold ideas from builders to the upcoming political process.

Does every entrepreneur support every idea?

No. Not every builder agrees with every idea. Instead of diluting things down to the lowest “most acceptable” group idea, our platform lets entrepreneurs propose their own ideas, with their own names. One builder sharing an idea does not imply group agreement.

How can I show my support?

Email your representative to show your support an idea. We have an easy way to do so on each of the memos. You can also engage with our content on social media (like, reply, repost). Even better, share our work with a friend and encourage them to do the same. Together, we can expand the conversation and reach more people with these important ideas.

Can I donate?

At this time, the best way to support us is through engagement and amplification of our content.

How can I stay up to date on your work?

Stay connected by signing up for our newsletter. It’s the best way to get updates, exclusive insights, and learn about new initiatives as they happen.

Can I get involved?

We welcome passionate individuals who want to help make a difference. Whether it’s by contributing your skills, helping with outreach, or amplifying our work, we’d love to hear from you. Reach out to us at [email protected].
